GM Uses the Same Distributor...
Why do the GM V6 and V8 marine engines use the same distributor for either rotation engine?
Notice the Camshaft Gear (top) turns the same
direction for either Rotation, which means the distributors are the same.
Only the firing order is different!
This applies to most GM V6 & V8 based marine engines
prior to 1998.
Technical Tip:
LH Firing Order for V8: 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2
RH Firing Order for V8 1 2 7 5 6 3 4 8
